More terrain has been opened and there are actually skiers and riders in town. This is a good thing. I’m a bit worried about the forecast though. Just a couple of hours ago they issued a Winter Storm Watch. That is usually the kiss of death for measurable snow. I hope not this time, we could use a big one. They are saying that we should get snow starting tonight through Tuesday.
We will keep our fingers crossed.
We’ve been waiting, some more patiently than others, but it looks like it is actually on the way. Of course I don’t want to jinx it but the Powder Predictor says its coming, so it must be. The Birds of Prey race is going on at Beaver Creek this weekend and the weather will be perfect for that. In fact I’m heading over there in just a few minutes. I’ll post a picture once I’m there.
But Sunday night is when the real action is going to start.
Snow Snow Snow Snow.
Now don’t take what I’m saying the wrong way. There is still plenty of snow up on Vail Mountain. The skiing isn’t half bad. In fact, they just opened up lifts 3 and 4 today. So we have some new terrain for the weekend. Of course it is all machine made snow. But the crews here in Vail are experts at making the white stuff. They deserve lots of thanks from all of us. So if you see one of the snowmakers, although they sleep during the day, give them the kudos they deserve.

Holding an Open House at the Mountain Haus all day today. There are 8 condos for sale. Mountain Haus is a great location and just happens to be the building that you can find the Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty Office. Stop by, we are right next to The Covered Bridge in Vail Village.

Woke up this morning to a few inches of powder. Soft White Dry powder. Didn’t even have to scrape the windshield. Just opened the door and it blew away. I like that. Too bad it wasn’t a foot of the stuff. Oh well. At least it is snow. The Mountain is open, or at least Born Free is over in Lionshead. I suspect that they will be opening some more runs pretty soon.
If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, or if you’ve just started, you know that I believe now is a great time to buy Vail Real Estate. But the window is limited. I’m not saying that it is closing yet. But it is going to close sometime. And when the snow arrives so do the buyers. The first properties to go are going to be the “deals.” In fact many of those have already been sold or are presently under contract. There are more, but you have to move.
NOW IS THE TIME. If you have ever wanted to own in Vail, give me a call. Mark — 970-331-5821
